organ and Bombarde is a traditional in Brittany combination, organ and flute, but one or another may remember the scene in the TV series Silas, in the little Silas, who earned flute playing on horseback for a living, reverent before the great organ in the City Church is the organist and admired for his many flutes. Anyone who has asked for this scene, as well probably could listen to a combination of these two dissimilar instruments that will be able to satisfy his curiosity in this CD. Ulrike and Claus von Weiss from Dusseldorf, otherwise known by its English Folk Open Morris Band bring them together, the many pipes of the organ Weimer at Christ Church in Brühl and diverse, but it is not the same playing tin and low whistles from Chris Abell, Colin Goldie, Pat O'Riordan and Ian Simpson. Yes, the impression of the name is not misleading, there is Irish music, specifically to traditional dance tunes and airs, and while you might think actually not of organ music, even in pieces by Turlough O'Carolan, the great Baroque masters of Ireland, whose instrument was the harp. It is unusual, but it fits, and how! Whether that Whistle plays the melody and the organ selbige backed with bass chords or be it that the organ melody and accompaniment at the same time to it and thereby also from slip jigs, hornpipes and reels at all does not stop. That they will not always remain the traditional theme, but here and there, almost jazzy varied may deter purists, but who is open, experienced a musical crescendo, his counterparts in the folk scene looks familiar to me in vain. For example, "I have a wife of my own": The organ begins with gentle chords, then play the first part of the actual melody, the whistle the second part, then assumes the latter two parts, the organ chordally behind it, then jazzy church music sounds similar to intermezzo intercalates, which then goes back to the actual melody, but again and again alienated, until finally the whistle goes back to the traditional melodic version. It is, in short a very original idea, implemented awesome, a really special album!

In the fourth year, reviewing of the Folker! can the writer of these lines again and again surprised by the quality like he has not known German Irish folk bands. In 2003 she was ever in Folker! praised, and this, their first long player must go back nothing less. Rheinhessen produces not only fine wines but also good music, it seems, because the group offers to gate Lörzweiler a brisk, fine, more consistent and detailed arranged Irish instrumental music and beautiful, sentimental Irish songs, again accompanied appealing instrumental. The fact that a jig is sometimes associated with a twofold and a slightly eingeirischten me so far known only from Cara Jig, which in turn sounds a little continental, is played, the listening experience increases the bargain. The sextet consists of flute Nils Nolte ("lead vocals), Elke Zörntlein (fiddle, backing vocals), Siggi Zörntlein (fiddle, viola, backing vocals), Greg Oster (box), Klaus Feketics (bouzouki, 12-string guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Mertz (steel-string guitar , nylon-string guitar, piano, backing vocals).

THE BAND CONNEMARA
At Home

12 tracks, 43:16, with photo, a few English. Information & two eng. Texts
Maybe a bit much Rumtata-drums quintet brings this Swabian of the upper Neckar in their interpretation of Irish folk inside. It may be a bit like the Bushwackers band or the Horslips recalls. The violin sounds very choppy, but there are also very beautiful string parts on guitar, bouzouki and mandolin there.

The banjo is really a good mood instrument, at least my mood is very into joy when I look at the CD of this Danish quintet with the Scottish lead singer listen, even if the Bones and Spoons this might be a little too extensive uses. It may weigh and grooves, so I hardly get enough of it!

Two Short Player of the Salzburg Singer / Songwriters Othmar Plöckinger, which he recorded with 13 musicians. Quieter, worn voice and stylistic influences of English from Scottish folk, blues, country and rock that reminds me of music from the 60s. Apart from Plock Inger are the texts by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lord Byron.
