Busy Mom

8 weeks 2 days
long time I've heard nothing more from me leave here on the blog. This time it's so special that it would be really much better documented. Anyway: I take pictures constantly. My baby and Florida, which I have been home in recent years. Only for blogging, it is often not easy.

Let's see what is the reason:
  1. Niklas is now almost two months ago and claimed it much attention. Usually he sleeps well at night, but yesterday I had to after midnight for half an hour with him walking around the block until it was finally dozed off. Fortunately, I now wear a variety of devices - Baby Bjorn, sling and sling - so I can carry round him in the house with me and still have your hands free. In one to two charges of laundry per day this is also urgently needed. Every day I walk at least half an hour with him, preferably on the beach or in a park. Since it is practical to struggle to take him instead of me with the stroller in the sand or risk of salt water rusty spokes.
  2. We move in less than four weeks, not just around the block, but on a different continent. The course also attracts a whole rats tail to events and activities for themselves. Organizational paperwork and want to be done, Niklas needs a passport, we need to sort out things we no longer need and are not intended to Germany, travel arrangements must be made. The military is quite bureaucratic and Jon's list of forms to be filled is seemingly endless.
  3. Then we had a week long visit to Jon's parents from Iowa to the we had to take care of us. Finally, they wanted to meet her grandson sometimes before we carry it over the Atlantic.
  4. Although Brownie now in its new temporary home in Tennessee - we have himself to run to Georgia where he was picked up by our friends - I can still ride still Stephanie's horses and try to also as good as possible to exploit , because that is almost over. Let's see if there are still before our departure a barrel race because I had to forego during pregnancy.
  5. Everything here is always far away, so we spend an awful lot of time with the car through the area to drive. When Stephanie is not so kind to us would make their cars available to departure - our CR-V is already with the ship on its way to Germany - I would not know how we should do all that.
  6. On weekends I like to drive sometimes the road bike through the area. As long as it is I need to take advantage of the lowlands, because soon we are mountainous.
  7. And finally, then of course there is also the running training, which is developed slowly. The group training on Tuesday we do as often as possible. Jon's parents were there as they have been taking care of Nicholas, otherwise Jon also runs with the pram and the trainer has offered us the to incorporate the next time the stroller, so we both get fit on our last 5-km race in Florida, the "Downtown Melbourne" 3 April. The special feature of this run, that men and women are separated, so that we can both join is. Last year, I'm there now with a 19:55 fourth wife. This year will probably not work, but I will do my best anyway. At least I did it in strong winds a week ago, already, running four laps (1600m or a mile) in 6:45. With Jon's support and cheering shouts of the trainer, I did my best right now and I ran the hell out of them. That has really done well, even if I do the same a year ago in just 6 minutes have done. will I'm on the right track, but there is still much work ahead of me if I place some day again a new PB or anything to win.
I am busy. My life is beautiful!

Rodent Ulcers In My Ctas Mouth

outdoor play

5 weeks 6 days

Finally seems the cold wave that had swept over Florida and, at times to have an end or at least to spare us for a while. Why do we have as tortured by the hot summer, when we freeze it now and take our baby in warm sweaters, wool hats and gloves have to do?

The weekend has certainly shown us again and compensation, looks like the perfect winter weather here. And of course we took advantage of it.

On Saturday morning we had to leave early because my first 5-km run without Niklas was in order. Since May, he accompanied me at every race, this time he was the first time "only" audience. Jon himself was not following along and has agreed to take care of the baby while I wanted to see where I stand after 3-4 weeks of running and despite what so far only very short distances and not even 6 weeks preceding birth, shall pass.

In perfect running weather, 11 degrees, overcast and virtually no wind, I gave my best. It was hard, it was exhausting, 5 km before I came very far, and it was total class! How wonderful to no longer be pregnant and just start walking without a big belly to.

The first two miles I was also equally wonderful, each with 7:30 / mile (4:39 / km), in the third gave the condition but then not quite. I had been expecting it and a plan in mind, so I'm not desperate, but slowed my pace just to the extent necessary to force a properly long sprint, in which I was able to collect on the last meters of a gentleman to me. With the result of 23:37 (4:43 / km, a second faster than my pace in Boston) I'm satisfied in any case, but I had expected something around 25 minutes. I still won in my age group was definitely a nice reward for the effort.

So I now feel fit and ready to start again with the training. In the next 12 weeks I will prepare a 10-mile beginner plan to running series in the Palatinate , which also includes re-speed work, tempo runs and hill training.

After the award ceremony, we had to leave fairly quickly, because at noon we wanted to meet with Stephanie at the horses. Next weekend brings Jon Brownie in his home in Tennessee (that is, he meets with people on half of the trail in Georgia) and so now was the last chance came with Brownie to drive again in a beautiful natural park and taking a long ride. Meanwhile
had warmed up nicely and we had fun on a brisk ride on Lake Lizzie Trail.

My men stayed at home for once.

On Sunday morning we were woken up by bright sunshine and then I took Jon's presence and shamelessly left him with Niklas at home. Since a while I had laughed at my road bike in the garage, but the week is a bit difficult with the baby. Now it was finally over. I had to replace the wheel and inflate the tires before I went in about 23 km long one-hour tour. I had almost forgotten how much fun riding a racing bike and does not know how much I had missed it.

After so many had to go it alone and finally my boys have their rights. Jon was roused from my run and decided this time to let the long run turn out in favor of 800-m intervals. While he was sweating in the midday heat, I went to Niklas walk in the stroller and fired to Jon when I met him.

alternately with Niklas in a sling and Daddys stomach lying in the afternoon, we were able to open our doors "living room outside," the Florida room use. Niklas like the rocking of course good and I have both hands free for other things. Rounding

the weekend was for a small family beach trip. All together we drove to Cocoa Beach Pier, the first time for Niklas and played tourists. Long as we are not finally here, because we must take advantage of the proximity to the sea!
